| At Harcon, we've learned at least one absolute in the years we've been doing
bridges: there is no such thing as a safe lane closure. Every time we
close a lane, we put ourselves, our clients, and the traveling public at
risk. Consequently, we're on a mission: to provide, whenever possible,
bridge inspection access without closing lanes.
In our opinion, it's a safer way to inspect bridges.
It's also less expensive. Most other bridge access methods require an under
bridge vehicle plus a lane closure. We're often able to provide access for
the cost of the lane closure alone. It's like getting access free.
And it's more efficient. Setup time for our equipment is minimal. We
seldom wait for favorable road or weather conditions to begin work. We're
not restricted to short work days or weekends or nights because of traffic
considerations. We eliminate the need for coordination between access
contractors and traffic control personnel.
