Since we introduced it in 1998, our Hummer/bucket truck, the largest one of it's kind in the world, has generated considerable excitement within the bridge inspection industry. On suitable structures, there's just no safer, more efficient, more cost effective way to go. Setup time: about five minutes. Drive under the bridge, put down the outriggers, and go to work. It'll operate in 30" plus of water, and with the snorkel kit we've installed, ford water up to 40" deep. -- Click Here for reach capabilities diagram

Now you can listen to your mother. You don't have to play in traffic, because our Hummer is a true Under Bridge Inspection Unit. No lane closures required, unless of course, you choose to use it as a conventional bucket truck and do the top chords on a thru truss bridge. Support personnel needed: just the driver.

The Hummer works extremely well on bridges over railroads. It'll ease right over just about any track. We've done five span structures over six or more sets of tracks in a matter of hours, even with delays in getting foul time.

Some consultants and DOT's have expressed environmental issue concerns. To date, we've never been refused access for environmental reasons. We've done work on Army Corps of Engineers property and had NYSDOT personnel review our procedures. At most, we've been asked to delay stream entry until after the salmon spawn in western New York. We try to "tread softly," minimizing the number of times we enter and exit a stream, and choosing carefully where we drive. And we always get permission from the owners of any property we need to cross. According to the environmental agencies we've spoken to the rule seems to be "If you're not digging, there's not a problem."

And there's this added benefit: if you wish, sometime during the course of the day's work, we'll take a picture of you sitting on the hood, or behind the wheel. Looks really good on the office bulletin board and it's great stuff for your kid at "show and tell."
